Long ‘Ii’ and short ‘Ii’ vowel sounds
The letter ‘Ii’ in English has two different vowel sounds. The long ‘Ii’ sound says its name like in the words ice, nice, and rice. The long “ii’ pattern is generally seen as i_e with a consonant between the two letters or in the -igh pairing.
